Programme A - The DNA of a Successful Team

Companies considering these courses should ask themselves the following questions:

  1. “Do you need world class teams in your organisation?”
  2. “Are you developing a new branch, office or manufacturing site and want your staff to hit the ground running?”
  3. “Do you just want ‘time out’ to re-strategize where your organisation is going and how to get there - followed by a need to reenergize your team?”
  4. “Do you have a section or team in your organisation that has problems or is just not performing as well as it could do?”
  5. Do you need a proactive and progressive work force?

If your answer is yes to any of these questions then this programme is for you!

Course Structure

The optimum course duration is 5 days, arriving on day 1 and departing on day 5. This is especially necessary for organisations that have issues or problems within their workforce that need addressing, as it is sufficient time to clearly identify the problems and to begin the process of rectification.

Each day begins with a theoretical interactive workshop where the goals and objectives for the day are discussed. We then depart to an outdoor location where we put our learnings into practice. We return to the accommodation late afternoon to freshen up before dinner which is followed by an evening workshop where we would debrief on the day and then develop the theoretical element forward. We make no excuse for the long days involved as we maximize this learning opportunity to the full.

The practical elements of the courses are designed around the client’s objectives and only incorporate adventure activities which are also developmental in themselves. Outdoor therapy has long since been acknowledged as a means of personal development but linked with our delivery methodology it can be life changing. All of our Instructors leading the activities and practical elements hold the necessary National Governing Body qualifications for the activities they are leading as well as full first aid certificates.

Topics covered will include:

  1. The components required for world class teams
  2. Effective communication
  3. Committed teams
  4. How to create cooperation and collaboration
  5. Effective decision making and problem solving
  6. How to empower teams to succeed
  7. The leadership and management of teams
  8. Trust, respect and responsibility
  9. Planning and objectives and how they can impact on performance
  10. Opening up the organisation’s greatest asset….its people!
  11. The life cycle of teams
  12. The importance of personal and interpersonal skills
  13. We will create development in both the individual staff members and the teams.

All our courses are designed to take results back into the workplace and for organisations to see the results of the training through improved performance, staff retention and eventually “the bottom line”; whatever that is identified as. With this in mind Eagle House always provide a follow up workshop in the premise of the organisation between 4 to 8 weeks post course in order to maintain a freshness in the learning obtained as well as helping to entrench the benefits in the place of work and assist in their sustainability. There is no cost for this final workshop as we are committed to ensuring the success of our programmes and our delegates.

Programme B - The DNA of Inspirational Leadership and Management

Of a true leader it is said:

“Not so good when people obey and acclaim him,
worse when they despise him.
Fail to honor people and they will fail to honor you,
but of a good leader who talks little,
when his work is done, his aim fulfilled,
the people will say ‘we did this ourselves.”
Sun Tzu (544BC TO 496BC)

It was uncommon for there to be female leaders when this was written, but obviously today this relates to men and women alike or those who aspire to, or need Inspirational Leadership.
Therefore if your organisation has a positive response to any of the following you need to seriously consider this programme:

  • “Do you believe that to have world class teams you must have world class leaders?”
  • “Are you wanting to develop your future leaders and to further your organisation’s succession management?”
  • “Does your organisation need inspirational leaders?”
Course Structure

The base concept and methodology of the leadership courses are the mix of theory and practical and as with all our programmes utilizing experiential learning. Many delegates have queried why we introduce climbing, the mountains and command tasks to develop people who will be working in industrial, commercial or retail environments. Where is the relevance? There is one key common factor…the individual…how they react, how they motivate or aggravate their colleagues, how they react to stress or problems. These indicators will be the same in the mountains as they are in the factory or workplace, but each delegate will be working outside of their comfort zone or their area of expertise and therefore will only have their own innate qualities and skills to fall back on and to demonstrate. Our instructors and trainers will be right there as things happen and feedback is “real time”, where understanding is created and need for change understood.

Each delegate will have the opportunity to lead in this management “soft play area” where no damage can be caused other than maybe a few bruised egos. The practical elements are designed around the client’s objectives and incorporate various adventure activities that are also developmental in their own right. Outdoor therapy has long since been acknowledged as a means of personal development but linked with our delivery methodology it can be life changing. All Instructors leading the activities and practical elements hold the necessary National Governing body qualifications for the activities they are leading as well as full first aid certificates.
