Adventure activities
Outdoor adventure activities have long been recognised as an ideal medium for developing young people and in Eagle House we use this to the full. We can develop structured adventure activity programmes in consultation with our clients to achieve the outcomes you desire whether they are educational, personally or socially developmental, or even more holistic or we can provide the excitement of adventure activities to add to your holiday in an a safe but enjoyable package.
Our adventure activity programmes utilise the beautiful Snowdonia national park and the stunning seascapes of Anglesey to the full. The content can be limited to enjoyment of the activities or can be structured to be more developmental. The skills and competencies encapsulated in Emotional Intelligence, integrally can be woven into our programmes and are well accepted as being the building blocks of success. These are the social and personal skills and competencies that everyone needs in order to socialize successfully with others, to be socially and personally aware.
“Research undertaken using two large scale surveys indicated that in just over a decade personal and social skills became 33 times more important in determining relative life chances.” (Margo and Dixon 2006)
Goleman refers to a study by Harvard business school that suggests that to be successful in any walk of life you need high proportions of Emotional Intelligence. Most of us acquire it from family interaction, nurturing and our social lives, developing it almost without knowing from birth, other students require more input as they have missed out on this interaction.
Our adventure activities include:
- Mountain walks
- Wild country camping
- Rock climbing
- Canoeing
- Kayaking
- Orienteering
- Coasteering
- Gorge scrambling
- Abseiling
- Caving (Derbyshire and Yorkshire Dales)
A detailed adventure activity programme would be developed following discussions with you.
